Boundary Layer Equations

This section presents the compressible laminar boundary layer equations — the governing PDEs that result from applying the boundary layer approximation to the Navier-Stokes equations for a viscous, heat-conducting, calorically perfect gas.

These equations are the starting point for similarity analyses (Falkner-Skan, Falkner-Skan-Cooke). Symbol definitions are collected in the Nomenclature page.
